About me

Hi, I’m Katja, a food-loving feminist in her mid-thirties from Nuremberg. I grew up as a small town Jungschützenkönigin (winner of a youth contest in riffle shooting), but I am more proud of being able to open a beer bottle with a women’s magazine. I once „met“ Jude Law and he touched my shoulder. (Kevin Spacey was present as well but I generelly omit that fact nowadays.)

(Pickles and Guinness. Yes, even the cats have foodie name.)

What is this blog even about?

This blog is called Couch Potato Chronicle because I love spending time on my couch with some comfort food, a nice glass of wine, a good tv show and two loving purring cats on top of me constantly hungry and whiney cats on top of me.

But don’t be misled! I also enjoy travelling and most of all I like food. I appreciate street food just as much as fine dining and I will not shy back from travelling hundreds of thousands of kilometres for a specific dish that I have just seen on YouTube.

So is this a food blog or a travel blog, or what? As my fellow Germans say: Jein. I will certainly blog about food because it is my passion and I feel a certain Wanderlust lately, so that will factor in. But I also want to blog about everything else that I find blog-worthy, from tv shows to everyday observations and from my favourite spots in Nuremberg to thoughts on German reality tv.

You will certainly not like every post. But that’s ok. 🙂
